2009 (Junior): Played in 11 of 13 games for 9-4 Wildcat team that repeated trip to NCAA Division II playoffs. Recorded 18 tackles (6 solo) with 1 tackle for loss and 1 quarterback sack. Top games were 4 tackles vs. Fort Lewis College and 3 in season-opening win over nationally-ranked NW Missouri State.
2008 (Sophomore): Played in 4 games for the Wildcats, finishing with 1 solo tackle and one tackle for loss (minus-9 yards).
2007 (Freshmen): January played in 7 games for the Wildcats, finishing with 8 tackles (5 solo), 2 tackles for loss and 1 sack. In the Wildcats’ 58-7 win over Northeastern State on Oct. 6, January had 3 tackles (2 solo) to go along with 1.5 tackles for loss and 1 sack. The week before (Sept. 29) in a 45-20 win over then-unbeaten Eastern New Mexico, January had 3 solo tackles.
2006 (Freshman): Redshirt.
High school: As a senior he led Class 3A in sacks with 13 while also posting 91 tackles (62 solo), 3 caused fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, and 13 tackles for loss. He was the district MVP, a first team all-region, first team all-CenTex and first team all-state selection.
