2013 (Redshirt sophomore): Played in 10 games (three starts) for the Wildcats, finishing with 30 tackles (22 solo stops). He had a season-high 10 tackles (9 solo) in the season-ending 65-56 win over Prairie View A&M on Nov. 16. Summers also had five tackles (four assisted) in ACU’s double-overtime loss to Tarleton State on Sept. 28 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco.
2012 (Sophomore): Was granted a medical redshirt season by the NCAA after suffering a severe knee injury in the season-opening win over McMurry.
2011 (Redshirt freshman): Summers played in 10 games for the Wildcats as a redshirt freshman in 2011, finishing the season with 28 tackles (14 solo), including 3.5 tackles for loss and one sack. He also had one interception and two pass breakups. Played his best football in ACU’s final four games, recording 21 tackles in the final four weeks of the season, including seven tackles and one pass breakup in ACU’s Nov. 19 loss to Washburn in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs. He had six tackles and one sack in the Wildcats’ regular-season finale against Incarnate Word.
2010 (Freshman): Redshirt.
High school: Two-time all-district linebacker and three-year lettermen as tight end and linebacker. Earned second team all-district honors in basketball as a junior.
Personal: Son of William and Dianne Summers. Sister, Hayley, played volleyball at Texas Woman’s University, and cousin, Jay Muncy, played tight end for the University of Houston. 2010 graduate of Hebron High School. Born 13 December 1991.
