Biography

Returns to the Wildcats as a junior after a solid sophomore season in 2006.

2006 (Sophomore): His signature kick in his brief Wildcat career came on Nov. 4 when he kicked a 25-yard field goal on the final play of the game to give the Wildcats a 41-38 road victory at Texas A&M-Kingsville. ACU drove 72 yards in five plays to the 8-yard-line in 61 seconds, giving Adams his chance to win it with less than two seconds to play. The game-winning kick earned Adams Lone Star Conference South Division Special Teams Player of the Week honors. That field goal was one of nine that Adams made in 16 attempts in 2006.  His longest was a 52-yarder against Southeastern Oklahoma State in ACU's 51-14 win on Sept. 16. That 52-yard field goal made Adams the only kicker in school history to have two career field goals of at least 52 yards.  He connected on 43 of 45 extra points during the season, the second-best single-season total in school history behind only the 46 that Richard Lepard hit in 1973 when the Wildcats won the NAIA Division I national championship.  Adams was fifth in the Lone Star Conference in scoring and led the league in kicking points with 70. Adams is an exercise and sports science major who was an academic all-LSC South Division selection in 2006.

2005 (Freshman): Became the Wildcats' full-time kicker midway through his freshman season. Adams kicked nine field goals (in 13 attempts) during the season, the seventh-best single season total in school history.  He tied the school single-game record for field goals by going 4 for 4 in ACU's 19-3 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville on Oct. 29.  One of those field goals was a 53-yarder, the fourth-longest field goal in school history and the second longest by a freshman in school history.  In an Oct. 22 win over nationally ranked Tarleton State, Adams kicked three field goals to help ACU to an 18-7 win over the Texans.  Adams was fifth in the Lone Star Conference in field goals per game (1.12) and fourth in field goal percentage (9 for 13 for 69.2 percent). Adams hit all 10 of his PATs on the season and finished the season by leading the league in PAT percentage.

High school:  Helped Abilene HS finish 12-1 on the season and win its first outright District 3 5A championship since 1958.  As a first team all-District 3-5A placekicker in 2004, Adams hit 68 of 69 extra-point attempts and 7 of 7 field goal attempts.  Adams finished his high school career as Abilene High's all-time leading scorer and the District 3-5A record-holder for most career PATs (170), career kicking points (273) and career field goals (22).  He also set school records for most PATs in a game (nine on two occasions), PATs in a season (68 in 2004), and points in a season (89 in 2004).  He was second team all-District 3-5A as a junior in 2003.  He was also an honorable mention Class 5A all state selection by the Associated Press in 2004. Adams was named to the Abilene Reporter-News' Class 4A-5A all-Big Country Team and the area all-Big Country Team.

Personal:  Born 31 July 1986.  2005 graduate of Abilene High School.
