ARLINGTON, Texas - Three Abilene Christian men's golfers were recognized with All-Western Athletic Conference honors, the WAC released Monday. Thomas Buisson earned All-WAC First Team accolades, while Grégoire Hoyeau and Tres Hill landed on the Second Team.
It ties for the most All-Conference awards for the Wildcats in the Division I era and their most as members of the WAC. ACU had three All-Southland Conference honorees in 2021.
Hoyeau received All-WAC Second Team distinction for the second year in a row, while Buisson was honored for the first time in his career. Hill garnered All-Sooner Athletic Conference honors in his final two seasons at Oklahoma City before heading to ACU.
The Wildcats had a season to remember with eight top-five performances, their most in the Division I era. ACU secured its first championship since 2022 at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational presented by L.A.B. Golf and closed the year with third place at the WAC Championship.
Buisson was a model of consistency throughout his senior campaign, placing outside the top 25 only twice in 12 tournaments. He logged four top-15 showings, featuring a runner-up finish at the Military City Collegiate presented by USAA and a tie for fourth at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational. Buisson was ACU's top performer in six events.
Buisson was named the University Credit Union WAC Men's Co-Golfer of the Month in October and was tabbed the WAC Men's Co-Golfer of the Week on Feb. 26 following his performance in San Antonio. The Bordeaux, France native shot below par in 21 of 35 rounds this season.
Hoyeau paced the Wildcats with four top-10 performances, including the program's first individual title since 2021 at the Robert Kepler Invitational. It was part of a strong finish to the season that featured three consecutive top-six performances. Hoyeau tied for sixth at the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational and at the WAC Championship. He was ACU's top performer at the conference tournament.
Hoyeau, a fellow senior Frenchman, scored a career best 9-under 207 at the Robert Kepler Invitational for the best score by a Wildcat this year. He was named the WAC Men's Golfer of the Week for his efforts in Columbus, Ohio.
A fifth-year graduate student, Hill's season was headlined by a tie for fourth place at the All-American Intercollegiate. He was one of four Wildcats within the top 15 at the WAC Championship, tying for 15th.
