Wildcats Wrap Up First Round of “Mo” Morial Invitational

BRYAN, Texas - Ryann Honea tied for 12th place to lead Abilene Christian women's golf through the first round of the "Mo" Morial Invitational at Traditions Club on Monday. Honea scored 3-over 75 as the Wildcats tied for 10th at 23-over 311.
Julia Vollmer will get ACU's second round started at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, with the rest of the lineup following in 10-minute increments.
ACU tied for seventh in the field on par-3 holes at 6-over, standing 10 strokes back of first-place Tulsa. Honea recorded three birdies to draw for seventh, closing at 1-over 37 on the front nine. She tied for fifth on par 5s at 1-under.
Honea placed fourth at last season's "Mo" Morial as the Wildcats landed in third.
Vollmer followed in a tie for 34th place at 6-over 78 after scoring an even-par 36 on the back nine with a pair of birdies. Maddi Kamas and Jiyu Han each drew for 42nd at 7-over 79 with one birdie apiece. Han tied for sixth on par 3s at even par.
Kate Pickrell rounded out the lineup in a tie for 81st at 17-over 89.
