Hoyeau in Top Five, ACU in Third Entering Final Round at WAC Championship

McKINNEY, Texas - Grégoire Hoyeau leads Abilene Christian men's golf in a tie for fourth place through two rounds at the Western Athletic Conference Championship on Tuesday. Hoyeau enters the final round at an even-par 144 with the Wildcats in third place at 15-over 591 at The Dye Golf Course at Stonebridge Ranch.
ACU looks to clinch its second WAC title and punch its ticket to an NCAA Regional entering Wednesday's final round. The Wildcats will tee off from 9:40-10:20 a.m.
ACU scored 8-over 296 in the second round, sitting five strokes back of first-place Tarleton State and three strokes behind second-place UT Arlington. The Wildcats remain the leaders in the field on par 4s at 15-over and have the third-most birdies with 31.
Hoyeau was one of eight golfers to shoot below par on Tuesday at 1-under 71. He collected four birdies, including three on the front nine. Hoyeau is tied for second on par 4s, shooting even, and is drawn for sixth with seven birdies and 22 pars. His seven bogeys are the fewest among the Wildcats.
Hoyeau is aiming for his second consecutive top-10 finish at the WAC Championship after placing eighth last year.
Jack Hollingsed followed in a tie for 11th place at 5-over 149. He scored 4-over 76 in the second round with a pair of birdies. Hollingsed tied for fourth on par 4s at 2-over and matched Hoyeau with 22 pars.
Tres Hill jumped 13 spots to meet Colin Leonard in a draw for 14th place at 7-over 151. Hill logged a seven-stroke improvement, shooting an even 72. He notched five birdies on Tuesday, including on each of his first three holes. Hill is also 2-over on par 4s. Leonard scored 7-over 79, including three birdies and 2-under 34 on the front nine.
Thomas Buisson finished out the lineup in a tie for 23rd at 9-over 153. He shot 5-over 77 with four birdies on the front nine, good for an even 36. His seven birdies are drawn for sixth.
