Jordon Vaughn Signs Free Agent Contract with Indianapolis Colts

Abilene Christian running back Jordon Vaughn signed an undrafted free agent contract with the NFL's Indianapolis Colts shortly after the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft on Saturday.
Vaughn ran for more than 1,000 yards and scored 11 touchdowns in his three seasons at ACU. The Manvel, Texas prospect returned to the Lone Star State after spending two years at Wyoming.
Gifted with tremendous size for a running back -- 6-foot-3 and 235 lbs. during his senior season -- Vaughn is expected to be used as a power back and in short-yardage situations. However, he also has great speed when he is able to move into the open field. ACU head coach Keith Patterson remarked several times that during 110-yard sprints Vaughn wasn't the fastest player out of the gate but built speed to beat all his teammates to the finish line.
In 2025, Vaughn played in all 14 games with 671 rushing yards on 114 carries (a 5.9-yard average) with eight scores. He ran for 80+ yards in five games, including a pair of triple-digit performances at Southern Utah (9 carries for 124 yards), and in the second round of the FCS playoffs at Stephen F. Austin (10 carries for 100 yards).
He also recorded two multi-touchdown games, both against the SFA.
Vaughn's signing marks the second consecutive year an ACU Wildcat has inked a deal after the NFL Draft with the Colts. Receiver Blayne Taylor signed with Indianapolis last year, took part in the Colts' training camp, and made one catch in a preseason game before being waived prior to the start of the 2025 regular season.
