Honea, Kamas in Top 10 Through Two Rounds at Coach Mo Classic

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Ryann Honea and Maddi Kamas each worked their way into the top 10 to pace Abilene Christian women's golf through two rounds at the Coach Mo Classic at St. Johns Golf & Country Club on Monday. Honea tied for fifth at an even-par 144, with Kamas right behind in a draw for eighth place at 1-over 145.
The Wildcats are in eighth place at 23-over 599 ahead of Tuesday's third and final round, beginning with a 7:30 a.m. (CT) shotgun start. They carded rounds of 8-over 296 and 15-over 303.
ACU's 24 birdies are tied for fifth in the field while shooting 5-under on par-5 holes to draw for third.
Honea, on the heels of a runner-up performance at the PING ASU Invitational, shot 3-under 69 in the opening round before closing with a 3-over 75 in the second. She is tied for the lead with 10 birdies after scoring below par on six holes in the first round.
The reigning Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week birdied her first hole of the day and closed the first round with birdies on the last two holes.
Kamas was steady with an even-par 72 in the first round ahead of a 1-over 73 in the second. She tallied five birdies in the opening round, with each coming within seven holes. Kamas' seven holes under par tied for sixth in the field.
Jiyu Han and Kate Pickrell each tied for 53rd place at 11-over 155. Han scored 6-over 78 to begin the day, then closed with a 5-over 77. She led ACU with 24 pars. Pickrell opened at 5-over 77 then logged a 6-over 78.
Jasmine Do rounded things out for the Wildcats in a draw for 65th place at 13-over 157. She had rounds of 7-over 79 and 6-over 78.
