Honea Ties for Fourth Place After First Round at PING ASU Invitational

PHOENIX - Ryann Honea tied for fourth place at 4-under 68 to lead Abilene Christian women's golf to tie for 10th place through one round at the PING ASU Invitational at Papago Golf Club on Monday. The Wildcats shot 8-over 296 to draw with Oregon State and New Mexico.
Jasmine Do will begin the second round for ACU at 9:51 a.m., with the rest of the Wildcats' lineup following in nine-minute increments.
Honea got started on hole No. 10 and opened with four birdies on the back nine for 3-under 33. She followed with a 1-under 35 on the front nine to wrap up her day. Honea's five birdies tied for fourth in the field while drawing for the fewest bogeys with just one shot over par on No. 18.
Maddi Kamas followed in a tie for 37th at 2-over 74 with two birdies and matching Honea with 12 pars. Jiyu Han and Kate Pickrell each tied for 65th place at 5-over 77 and combined for 23 pars.
Do rounded out ACU's lineup in a tie for 77th at 7-over 79. Julia Vollmer, competing as an individual, drew for 82nd at 8-over 80. Both notched a pair of birdies.
