ACU to Play FIU at Hardin-Simmons’ Mabee Complex in WNIT Second Round Tuesday

ABILENE - Abilene Christian women's basketball will take on Florida International at Hardin-Simmons' Mabee Complex at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the second round of the Postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament.
Ticketing information will be released shortly. The Wildcats will compete at the home of the Cowgirls while Moody Coliseum is in use for Sing Song on March 27-28.
ACU earned an automatic berth in the WNIT after competing in the Western Athletic Conference Tournament championship last week. The Wildcats are making their second consecutive appearance in the WNIT and their fourth as a Division I program.
After placing second in the conference standings, ACU received a first-round bye, where the Panthers defeated the Hatters in overtime, 76-73. The Wildcats can match their deepest postseason run in the Division I era after advancing to last season's Super 16 round.
ACU met FIU twice last season, earning a pair of victories in Miami. The Wildcats beat the Panthers 76-73 in the second game of the year before returning to South Beach for an 87-67 in the FIU Thanksgiving Classic.
At 23-10, ACU has collected its most victories since 2019-20, while its 13-5 showing in WAC play was also good for its most conference wins in six years. The Wildcats have 45 wins in the past two seasons, their most in a two-year period since tallying 47 from 2018-20.
