
Bats Come Alive in Wildcats' 13-6 Win in Lubbock

Junior Emerson Meggers had a 3-hit, 4-RBI day. She hammered a home run against the Titans, and then drove in runs on a pair of RBI singles against the Mean Green.
Game 1: ACU 13, Detroit Mercy 6
In the first game against Detroit Mercy, the Wildcats capitalized on the Titans' four errors and drew 10 walks to fuel their offense. The scoring began in the first inning when Emerson Meggers hit a two-run homer, bringing Ciana Arguijo home.
ACU tacked on five runs in the second thanks to heads-up base running.Contributions included a sacrifice fly by Emalee Romero and a double by Savannah Crocker, who notched three runs batted in for the first time this season, boosting the team to a 7-3 lead by the end of the inning. The fifth inning saw the Wildcats adding two more runs, with Romero's walk bringing Valerie Ornelas home, followed by Kyana Lipardo scoring on a fielder's choice, extending the lead to 9-6.
The Wildcats sealed the game in the seventh inning with four additional runs. Crocker's RBI single and subsequent errors by the Titans' defense allowed Julianna Martinez, Arguijo, and Maxwell to score, concluding the game with a final score of 13-6.
Ella Beeman started the game but faced challenges, allowing three hits and two earned runs in the first inning without recording any outs. Lindsey Oliver relieved Beeman and pitched 4 2/3 innings, surrendering four earned runs on eight hits. Oliver struck out six batters but issued five walks. Alissa Snipes closed the game with a strong performance, pitching 2 1/3 hitless innings while striking out five and not allowing any walks.
Game 2: North Texas 10, ACU 2 (5 innings)
Immediately after, the Wildcats took on North Texas.
Abilene Christian opened the scoring in the first inning with Ari Maxwell singling to left field, advancing to second on a passed ball, and stealing third before Emerson Meggers drove her in with a single to right field, giving the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.
Abilene Christian managed to add another run in the fifth inning, with Ciana Arguijo singling, stealing second, and being driven home by Meggers' second RBI single of the game. However, North Texas sealed its commanding lead with four runs in the bottom of the fifth
