Maxwell crushed a pair of long balls against the Islanders, becoming ACU's first player with a multi-home run game since Miranda Lista hit two HR against Texas Tech on April 2, 2025 at Poly Wells Field.
The outfielder then launched another pitch over the wall in the Wildcats' tournament finale versus North Texas, giving her four HR this season.
Game 1: Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 13, ACU 5 (5 innings)
In the first game against the former Southland Conference foe, the Wildcats showed resilience despite a difficult start. The game remained scoreless through the first two innings, but the Islanders erupted in the third, scoring nine runs due to a combination of timely hits and defensive errors. Ari Maxwell responded for the Wildcats with a solo home run to left field, putting Abilene Christian on the board.
In the fifth, Maxwell hit a three-run homer for the Wildcats to give her four RBI for the game.
Emerson Meggers contributed with a run scored and two assists from her second base position. Elizabeth Schaefer reached base three times with a hit and two walks. Emalee Romero also had a hit and scored once.
Pitching for the Wildcats, Ella Beeman started the game, allowing 6 earned runs over 2 innings with 2 strikeouts. Alissa Snipes followed, giving up 3 runs (2 earned) in 1 inning, and Lindsey Oliver closed the game, pitching 2 innings while allowing 4 earned runs.
Game 2: North Texas 16, ACU 6
Later on Saturday afternoon, Abilene Christian fell behind North Texas 2-0 in the first inning, and 10-0 in the third. The Cats responded in the bottom of the third with freshman Ciana Arguijo singling home Julianna Martinez.
In the fourth, Elizabeth Schaefer's lead-off double set the stage for Keyauna Lipardo to drive her in on a single. After a base knock by Valerie Ornelas, Erianna Garcia drove in Lipardo and Emalee Romero homered to left centerfield. Two batters later, Ari Maxwell capped the inning with a solo home run to right center, reducing the deficit to 10-6.
However, North Texas added two runs in the sixth and four more in the seventh.
Leah Meyer started in the circle for the Wildcats, allowing 7 earned runs on 7 hits over 3 1/3 innings. Alissa Snipes struggled in relief, giving up 7 runs (4 earned) in just 2/3 of an inning, while Lindsey Oliver provided some stability, pitching 2 2/3 innings and allowing only 2 runs (1 earned).
