CEDAR CITY, Utah - Payton Hull continued her torrid pace with 30 points as Abilene Christian women's basketball fell to Southern Utah, 78-70, at the America First Event Center on Sunday afternoon. Hull reached the 30-point threshold for the second matchup in a row to average 26.4 points in her last seven games.
The Wildcats aim to bounce back next week as they begin their final homestand at Moody Coliseum. ACU meets Utah Tech at 6 p.m. Thursday for its Greek Night and Purple Game presented by First Financial Bank. The Wildcats host Utah Valley at 1 p.m. Saturday for She Can Be and Mentor Day presented by Dr. Leslie Hutchins.
Hull has scored 30-plus points in back-to-back games for the second time in her career after breaking the ACU Division I scoring record with 36 points at Tarleton State on Feb. 14. Hull rattled off 34 and 31 points in consecutive games as a freshman in 2023-24. She's scored 20 points or more in seven of her last nine contests.

Erin Woodson played nearly the entire 40 minutes with 19 points on 6-of-14 shooting and a 5-for-5 mark at the free throw line. She collected five boards, including four on the offensive glass, and came away with three steals.
Breanna Davis scored in the double digits in the second game in a row for the first time this season. She dropped 10 points with a pair of three-pointers and an ACU-leading four assists.
Aimee Flippen scored a season-high five points with two field goals and tied her career best with a team-high six rebounds. She matched her season high with 16 minutes. Natalia Chavez matched her career best with three assists.

Hull set the tone early with 10 first-quarter points at a 4-of-7 clip. She and Woodson reeled in three steals apiece in the first half.
Southern Utah stormed out of the break, scoring 28 points in the third quarter to grab a 54-44 advantage. Hull and Woodson combined for 15 of the Wildcats' 18 points in the third period as ACU knocked down four of six attempts from beyond the arc.
The Wildcats' offense came to life with 26 fourth-quarter points, but the Thunderbirds responded with 24 of their own to stifle the comeback attempt.
