ORLANDO, Fla. - No. 101 Abilene Christian women's golf kicks off its spring schedule in the Sunshine State at the UCF Challenge Presented by PDI at Eagle Creek Golf Club from Sunday to Tuesday. The Wildcats look to build upon a fall slate that featured a pair of top-three team finishes and five top-10 individual placements.
ACU will travel with a lineup of
Ryann Honea,
Kate Pickrell,
Maddi Kamas,
Jasmine Do and
Marissa Loya. Teams will play one round each day at the par-72, 6,392-yard course.
The Wildcats join a 16-team field featuring six power conference opponents in No. 7 Auburn, No. 18 Mississippi State, No. 20 UCF, No. 21 Baylor, No. 71 Penn State and No. 107 Nebraska.
The competition is rounded out by No. 24 Kent State, No. 63 Charlotte, No. 81 South Florida, No. 82 South Alabama, No. 86 Florida Gulf Coast, No. 88 East Carolina, No. 124 Old Dominion, No. 126 North Florida and No. 180 Northern Illinois.
The UCF Challenge Presented by PDI is the first of five tournaments for ACU this spring ahead of the Western Athletic Conference Championship on April 20-22. In the program's third season, it represents the earliest that it has opened the spring slate. The Wildcats compete in six events hosted by power conference programs this season while staging the West Texas Classic at Abilene Country Club's North Course on March 2-3.
ACU was last in action at the OU Intercollegiate Presented by PDI on Oct. 6-7, 2025. In the fall, it landed in second and tied for third at Oral Roberts' The Lady Clerico and Texas Tech's Red Raider Invitational, respectively. The Wildcats are the highest-ranked program in the WAC, per Clippd.
Honea, ranked 91st in the nation and the highest in the conference by Clippd, aims to stay hot this spring after landing in the top 15 at each of her four events in the fall. She captured the sixth title of her career at The Lady Clerico following a draw for third at Purdue's Boilermaker Classic.Â
Honea recorded the lowest-scoring tournament in program history at 11-under 205 at The Lady Clerico while matching the lowest-scoring round at 5-under 67. She was named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above WAC Golfer of the Month in Sept. 2025.
Pickrell's fall was headlined by a tie for 21st place at The Lady Clerico. In three events, she carded a trio of rounds at 1-over or even par. Kamas registered a pair of top-15 efforts in the fall, including an eighth-place showing at the Red Raider Invitational. She notched four rounds at or below par.
Do closed out the fall season on a high note, matching the best outing of her career with a tie for 24th at the Red Raider Invitational. She logged the lowest round of her career at 1-under 71. Loya's top performance came at The Lady Clerico, where she placed 43rd.
