Ryann Honea and
Sydney Williams earned
Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators in recognition of their academic and athletic accomplishments, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon.
To qualify for Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 grade point average and have been in the lineup for at least 70% of their program's team scoring events or in the lineup at the conference championship.
Honea was also named an Academic All-American finalist and will advance to the national ballot voted upon by CSC members. Academic All-America teams will be released at 11 a.m. July 8.
In the classroom, Honea graduated with her Bachelor's degree in information systems in May, needing just three years to do so. She boasted the program's highest undergraduate grade point average at 3.86 and holds a 4.0 graduate GPA while pursuing her Master's in healthcare administration. Honea was an Academic All-Western Athletic Conference honoree in the 2023-24 season.
Honea adds to a stacked trophy case that saw her named the 2025 WAC Co-Golfer of the Year and earn her second consecutive nod to the All-WAC First Team. The San Angelo, Texas native finished as the individual runner-up at the WAC championship a year after claiming the conference title. Honea garnered an individual berth in the NCAA Tournament for the second season in a row, competing at the NCAA Lubbock Regional.
Honea was named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above WAC Women's Golfer of the Week on three straight occasions and notched seven top-10 showings across 12 tournaments, including six top-four performances. The conference's highest-ranked golfer at No. 95, per Clippd, she captured individual titles at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate and the inaugural West Texas Classic at Abilene Country Club.
Williams was a team leader for the Wildcats in 2024-25, competing in 10 of the program's 11 events as its lone senior. A 2023-24 Academic All-WAC recipient, she graduated in May with her Bachelor's degree in art with a 3.77 GPA.
Williams carded three top-20 finishes last season, including a tie for 13th place at 7-over 223 at the WAC Championship as ACU came in second place as a team. Across two seasons with the Wildcats, the Frisco, Texas product carries three top-five performances and nine top-20 efforts.
Academic All-WAC honors for the 2024-25 golf campaign will be released later this summer.
