
ACU Men Finish Day One of the WAC T&F Championship in Second

ARLINGTON - Day 1 of the WAC T&F Championship opened up well as Kailey Roskop medaled as she finished 3 rd in the Hammer throw with a big throw of 178-8/54.46, which represented a personal best (PB) for Kailey, plus moving her to #4 on the all-time list for ACU. Sterling Glenn also grabbed a 6 th place finish with a PB of 162-3/49.46. Following the women's hammer throw, Sutton Welch competed well in the men's hammer throw as he jumped to the lead on the first throw, a lead that held until the next to last throw.
The first day of the multis contest went well for ACU, as Canaan Fairley leads the men's decathlon at the end of day 1 and he scored PB's in 4 of the 5 events – 100 (10.53 -and the best time of the competition); long jump 23-1.25/7.04; shot put – 39-3.25/11.97; and finishes the day with the fastest time of the competition as he runs a 48.66 in the 400. In the women's heptathlon, Natalie Poe stands in 4 th place that included a PB of 25.60 in the 200 and 35-6.5/10.83 in the shot put. Nele Huth finishes day 1 in 5 th place, which included the best throw in the shot put in the competition of 42-1.5/12.85. Both the decathlon and heptathlon will finish on Day 2. Both Ethan Krause in the 200 (8 th best time in the prelims with a time of 21.31) and Kenan Reil in the 400 hurdles, running his first ever competitive 400 hurdles and had the 4 th fastest time in 53.45. Both Ethan and Kenan will run in the finals of their race on Day 3.
In the last event for the men for the evening, Andruw Villa continued his stellar freshman year by finished 3 rd in the men's 10,000 in a time of31:03.26. Teammate Samuel Lanham also made it to the awards stand, as he finished 7 th in the race. The ACU men finish Day 1 in 2 nd place, with 16 points – Utah Valley leads the team race with 23 points. The Wildcats finished Day 1 well as freshman Hannah Kasper finishes 6 th in her first ever 10000 run with a time of 37:17.67. ACU finishes Day 1 in 5 th place with 12 points –
Utah Valley leads with a 65 points. The meet resumes tomorrow with the men's decathlon at 10 a.m. The field events begin at 12 noon and running prelims at 4:10 p.m.
