Honea Earns Third Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above WAC Women’s Golfer of the Week Accolade

ARLINGTON - No. 90 Abilene Christian women's golf's Ryann Honea was named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday. Honea received the honor for the second week in a row and for the third time this spring.
Honea notched an individual runner-up finish at the Riverbend Intercollegiate in Sugar Land over Monday and Tuesday, leading the Wildcats to a second-place showing and their third consecutive top-three performance. Honea finished in the individual top two for the fourth time this season and in her third tournament in a row.
The San Angelo product, ranked 60th in the nation by Clippd, wrapped up at 5-under 211 after carding a 3-under 69 in the first two rounds. A 1-over 73 outing in Tuesday's final round saw Honea tally four birdies. She recorded the second-most birdies in the tournament with nine.
Honea tied champion Moa Svedenskiold for the best score on par 5 holes at 3-under, while her 4-under on par 4s was even for second.
Honea was previously named the WAC Women's Golfer of the Week on Feb. 13 and March 5 after winning individual titles at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate and the West Texas Classic.
ACU returns to action on March 21-23 at the Florida State Match Up at Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla.
