Cats Earn 6-1 Win over Utah Tech

ABILENE – Abilene Christian earned a tough 6-1 win over Utah Tech on Saturday with four singles matches going three sets.
"That's a good win today," said ACU Head Coach Bryan Rainwater. "Happy to get out here with the 6-1 win. We had a lot of close matches. Could have swung it the other way. But it was a good job by our girls to fight and bring the energy when we needed to close out some of those matches."
ACU won the doubles point with wins by Andrea Guerrero and Olivia Sears at No. 3 and Masha Vrsalovic and Maria Cascos at No. 1.
Guerrero and Maryjoe Crisologo won their singles matches for a 3-0 lead and Olivia Sears got the clincher in three sets. Vrsalovic and Libby Blair came up winners after battling through tiebreakers in three-set wins.
The Wildcats return to the courts next week, visiting Grand Canyon on Friday.
