ABILENE – Nebraska-Omaha rallied for a 4-3 win over Abilene Christian on Monday.
After the Wildcats won the doubles point, ACU Head Coach Juan Nunez told his players to keep their foot on the gas in singles but that point was completely taken.
"I told them after doubles, it's going to take six singles," Nunez said. "I don't know if they were all-in there. We were in a position to win. The reality is I'm pretty happy with the way we competed on some courts and some courts were just weren't tough enough."
Benjamin McDonald and Ethan Scribner won 6-3 at No. 2 doubles and Mihaly Deli and Merse Deli moved to 7-0 on the season with a doubles point-clinching 7-5 win at No. 3 doubles.
Martin Delnido kept hope alive with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles and Dennis Dutine won at No. 5 in three sets after UNO had clinched the match.
The Wildcats square off with New Mexico State at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
