ACU quarterback Maverick McIvor has spent most of the 2024 season ranked second in the FCS leaderboard for passing yards.
Not anymore.
The graduate student from San Angelo Central High School jumped up to first place in the division after last Saturday's 275-yard performance at North Alabama.
McIvor has thrown for 2,231 yards this season, which is 45 yards ahead of Miles Hastings from UC Davis. Of the top 5 quarterbacks, McIvor also has the best touchdown-to-interception ratio with 17 scores to just 3 picks this season.
Jump-started by a career-high 506 passing yards in the season opener at Texas Tech, McIvor has started his march up ACU's career record books.
He currently ranks 7th in passing yards, 5th in passing TD and 7th in completions. His 11 career 250-plus passing yard games is 8th most in ACU history.
Against North Alabama, McIvor threw the 50th TD pass and the 500th completion of his career. McIvor went over 6,000 career passing yards during the previous week's victory over then-fifth ranked Central Arkansas.
The no. 17 Wildcats host Eastern Kentucky for the annual Homecoming game on Saturday at 3 p.m.
