Wishert Named UAC Freshman of the Week

ABILENE – The United Athletic Conference selected Abilene Christian running back Xavier Wishert as its first-ever Freshman of the Week.
 
Wishert, a redshirt freshman from Tuscola (Jim Ned HS), carried the ball 10 times for 58 yards and two touchdowns.
 
"We've seen the work he's put in over the last year and a half and preparing for that moment, and to see him succeed on the field, it's easy to get excited for a guy like Xavier."
 
Wishert scored on a two-yard run in the second quarter to give the Wildcats a 14-0 lead and then ran one in from 18 yards for a 31-3 lead in the third quarter. The second touchdown run was his longest run of the game.
