PHOENIX, Ariz. – Grand Canyon staved off three set-points in the first game and knocked off Abilene Christian in three sets Thursday night.
Grand Canyon won 28-26, 25-19, 25-11.
The Wildcats led 24-11 in the first set but the Lopes rebounded for the first-set win.
Breanna Box led the Cats with eight kills and Madeline Guffy contributed 29 assists. Andie Sheppard led the defense with 10 digs.
ACU returns to action Saturday at California Baptist.
