Cats Run Well in Two Meets

AUSTIN and SAN MARCOS – Abilene Christian put together some strong performances in the Texas Relays and the Bobcat Invitational on Friday.
 
In Austin, Addison Franklin, Jack Marshall, Jamal January and Jared Williams were second in the 4x100 relay at 40.69.  Marshall ran the 100 meters in 10.58 seconds and Franklin ran it in 10.83.
 
Franklin, Marshall, Williams and Cooper Goggans ran the sprint medley in 3:22.04.
 
Jeremy King ran the 400 hurdles in 14.56.
 
Off the track, Nathan Collier had a throw of 158 feet, 9 inches in the discus.
 
For the women in Austin, Payton Kirk placed 13^th in the long jump at 19-4 and Ella Anttila cleared 42-1.75 in the triple jump.
 
D'anna Smith, Kirk, Hannah Foster and Savannah Walker ran the 4x100 at 47.13. Walker, Ja'Dasia Sims, Courtney Latham and Ja'Kaylon Sabbath ran the 4x400 in 3:47.90.
 
Foster ran the 100 in 12.17 seconds and Paige Boucher finished the 100 hurdles in 14.80.
 
In San Marcos, Neal Helgerson was ninth in the 1500 at 3:55.93.
 
Kevin Castruita led the Cats in the 5000 at 15:11.57, followed by Gabriel Trevino at 16-11.75.
 
Prudence Kiyeng ran the 5000 in 18:21.78.
 
Both meets conclude on Saturday.
