ABILENE – Abilene Christian hosts Angelo State in the Elementary School Field Trip Game at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
ACU is a 1-1 on the season after a 69-58 loss at the hands of Rice last week.
Angelo State, which will count the game as an exhibition, is 3-2 on the season.
ACU Storylines
MISSING ADDI: Addison Martin, who missed the Rice game with an injury, leads ACU with 13 points per game.
FROM THE BENCH: ACU averages 37 bench points per game. The Wildcats are 21st in the nation in that category.
BELLA UP:
Bella Earle led ACU with 14 points in the game against Rice, standing out as the lone double-figure scorer for the Wildcats in the game. She was 5-10 from the field and also led the Cats with five rebounds and shared the team lead with two assists.
AND ONE: ACU is second in the WAC in getting to the free-throw line. The Cats are averaging 24 free throws per game.
THE 3 BALL: Abilene Christian's favorite weapon is the three-pointer. The Cats have struggled there over the first two games, hitting just 29.2 percent.

Payton Hull lead the team with three three-pointers each.

Payton Hull has brushed aside any notion of needing time to adjust to the college game She's averaging 11.5 points and 3.5 rebounds. She's shooting 57.1 percent from the field, including 42.90 percent from three-point range.
DOING GUARD THINGS: Aspen Thornton leads the team with five assists and four steals as the primary point guard for ACU. She's getting those numbers while averaging 21.5 minutes per game in the early going. Thornton also averages eight points per game.
HISTORY: ACU has a 5-8 mark since 2006 against Angelo State but the five wins have come in the last five meetings. ACU won the last matchup in 2021, 88-53, in Abilene.

- The Rambelles are 3-2 this season after a 64-55 win at Western Colorado.
- ASU lost an exhibition game to Rice, 101-47 on Nov. 1 in the only like-opponent contest.
- Sawyer Lloyd leads ASU with 13.6 points and 5.4 assists per game.
- Madeline Stephens averages 10.6 points and seven rebounds for the Belles and leads the team with 2.6 steals per game.
- Tayjanna McGhee Pleasant, who led the team last season with 16 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, is averaging 11 points and eight rebounds this season.
