Wildcats Wins Eight Singles Matches

FORT WORTH – Abilene Christian won eight singles matches on the first day of the ITA Texas Regional on Thursday and has three entrants still in the bracket.
Cesar Barranquero pulled out wins over Prairie View A&M and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to advance. After a first-round bye, Daniel Morozov scored a win against Incarnate Word to advance to Friday.
Ethan Scribner and Merse Deli both had victories over SMU opponents while Mihaly Deli beat a TAM-CC foe and Benjamin McDonald got a victory over Texas-Rio Grande Valley. All four fell in the second round, however.
Dario Kmet had a first-day bye and joins Morozov and Barranquero in the main draw on Friday.
Doubles play launches on Friday as well.
