
Men’s Tennis Falls in Waco to Eighth-Ranked Bears

WACO — The Wildcats (4-6) fell to No. 8 Baylor University (9-6) 0-4 on Tuesday. Dennis Dutiné / Tomas Quesada secured a win at the No. 3 doubles position but were unable to capture any singles matches.
Baylor secured the doubles point with victories on courts one and two. Luis Jose Nakamine / Ethan Scribner lost 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Baylor clinched the point with a 6-4 win against Jorge Aza / Merse Deli at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, Baylor extended its lead with a decisive 6-1, 6-0 victory as Scribner fell at No. 6 singles. Deli (6-4, 6-2) and Quesada (6-4, 6-4) each lost in straight sets as Baylor secured its win.
Several singles matches were left unfinished with Aza, Dutiné, and Nakamine still on the court. Dutiné was engaged in a closely contested match, leading 6-3, 5-6 at No. 4 singles when play was halted.
UP NEXT
The Wildcats will head back home as they prepare to take on UT San Antonio on March 20. The Roadrunners are 1-10 this season with two games taking place before facing the Wildcats. UTSA's one win came on March 5 against UT Arlington.
