Women's Basketball

Top D2 scorer in the country headed to ACUWBB

ABILENE – ACU women's basketball head coach Julie Goodenough announced the signing of Ouachita Baptist transfer and NCAA Division II's leading scorer Aspen Thornton for the 2022-23 season. The Wildcats will have quite a bit of turnover heading into next season with the graduation of five players, and Thornton helps fill the void at the guard position. The task is not only to fill in numbers but to fill in talent and character. It's about more than just basketball. It's about being an ACU Wildcat. And Thornton fits the bill heading into the fall.

We are so excited to add Aspen to our family. She is a skilled offensive player who scores from the perimeter and on crafty finishes in the paint. Aspen is a fierce competitor who will be effective for us on both sides of the ball.
