Wildcat football adds four transfers to spring roster

ABILENE, Texas – The ACU football program and head coach Keith Patterson have announced the addition of four transfer players to the roster for the spring semester.

"We are excited to add these four young men to our roster as our staff continues to work diligently on the recruiting trail," Patterson said. "We are confident that each of these men will fit the expectations we are creating and that they will represent us well both on and off the field."

Abner Dubar, safety (University of Minnesota)
Sophomore | Anna, Texas | 6-2 | 175
A former All-District safety at Anna High School, Dubar made 105 career tackles for the Coyotes, forcing three fumbles and recovering two more. He also rushed for 1,505 career yards and found the endzone 13 times and was rated as a top 100 prospect in the state of Texas by 247Sports.

Hunter Loyd, quarterback (University of Central Arkansas)
Sophomore | Rogers, Ark. | 6-4 | 205
The 14th-rated player in Arkansas coming out of Rogers High School, Loyd was named as an AAA 7A All-State selection in 2018 before repeating in 2019. He tossed for north of 7,600 career yards and 75 touchdowns before heading to Conway. During his time at UCA, Boyd was named as a Hero Sports Top 10 FCS Quarterback prospect in the nation.

Femi Sakiri, offensive line (University of Connecticut)
Freshman | Roanoke, Texas | 6-5 | 277
Sakiri returns to the Lone Star State after spending his school days at Byron Nelson High School and helping lead his team to an appearance in the 2020 Texas State Playoffs. He was named an All-District selection for the Bobcats in 2019 and was named as a Second-Team All-State Academic player while serving as team captain.

Benjamin Marcinkowski, tight end (Texas Tech University)
Freshman | Lubbock, Texas | 6-3 | 215
The Texas Tech transfer graduated in 2021 from Lubbock Cooper High School after helping the Fighting Pirates to a district championship with an unblemished 5-0 record. Cooper also made a deep playoff run, picking up three wins before hitting a buzzsaw in Wichita Falls Rider, a game in which Marcinkowski hauled in a 25-yard touchdown.
