ABILENE – Wildcat secondary coaches have stressed physicality throughout the spring and fall camp, with defending the run and creating more turnovers being the main priorities for the upcoming season. A healthy mix of returners and newcomers is set to provide flexibility and depth for ACU this fall, providing the Wildcats with a bevy of options in the defensive backfield.
SAFETIES
Returners
Brian Bullock | Austin, Texas

Redshirt junior
Brian Bullock was one of ACU's most consistent defenders last season, picking up just under six tackles per game last season. In consecutive games against Mercer and SFA, Bullock was a force for the Purple and White, totaled 15 tackles in that span.
"Brian has the ability to take different adjustments onto the field without needing a lot of practice time with stuff he hasn't seen before. He is a super smart football player, and he is a sure tackler for us." – assistant coach
Zach Williams
Elijah Moffett | Selma, Texas

After redshirting for the Wildcats last fall, the former All-District selection will look to be a difference maker for ACU in his redshirt freshman campaign.
"Elijah has done a lot of maturing in the offseason. He's gotten bigger, faster and stronger. The most noticeable difference is that he has really taken things more seriously and really has learned the defense, and we are optimistic that he will be a good player for us." – assistant coach
Zach Williams
Koy Richardson | Angleton, Texas

Arguably the most vocal leader on either side of the ball for the 2021 Wildcats, redshirt senior
Koy Richardson slid from corner to safety midway through last season, recording 20 tackles to go with a pair of pass breakups and a forced fumble.
"Koy is super smart, and we love having him in the safety room. He's a leader who holds the young guys accountable, and he brings a competitive edge to practice every day." – assistant coach
Zach Williams
Kameron Stokes | Arlington, Texas

An All-District two-way player in high school, redshirt freshman Kam Stokes saw in action in all six games for ACU last fall and aims to make a big leap forward in 2021.
"Kam's best attribute as a football player is his great feet, but he is also one of the most patient guys in the room and he is extremely coachable." – assistant coach
Zach Williams
Shelby Washington | Oklahoma City

A redshirt junior on the field, Washington saw action in all six games for the Wildcats last fall, coming away with 14 tackles on the season.
"Shelby is very athletic and passionate about football. He spends a lot of time watching film, and it's clear that he wants to be great." – assistant coach

Returners
Triston Anderson | Rockwall, Texas

After spending a year at Arkansas State, Anderson came on strong for the Wildcats in 2020, recording four tackles and forcing a fumble in his ACU debut against UTEP. In the Oct. 24 game against SFA, Anderson recorded seven solo tackles, making him one of ACU's best open-field tacklers.
"Triston is an athletic, long, rangy player who has great cover ability. He is a tough competitor who is physical with wide receivers and mixes up his matchups."
Christopher Satterfield | Spring, Texas

In his first season with the Wildcats last fall, redshirt freshman Chris Satterfield saw the field in four of ACU's six games, picking up seven tackles in the season finale against Virginia.
"Chris has been around and got some good minutes for us last year. He's a young player but learning and growing and wants to be a football junkie."
Ryan Stapp | College Station, Texas

A redshirt sophomore who will see time as a corner and a returner on special teams, Stapp recorded multiple tackles in each game last fall, including a five-tackle performance against SFA.
"Ryan is a passionate and intelligent guy who has been here for three years, and he is the jack of all trades type for us. He's a threat to the other team and he can help us out in a lot of different ways."
Newcomers
"We're excited about these four guys because they have added competition to our room. We have a lot of experience in our room now.
