Johnson reaches base three times against SFA

ABILENE—The Wildcats closed out their weekend series with SFA on Saturday afternoon, falling 8-0 in five innings. Much like the games on Friday night, the Ladyjacks were able to jump out to an early lead and ACU struggled to find a way to cut into it.

SFA hit two solo homeruns in the top of the first inning to take the early 2-0 lead. They would put up six runs in the third and there would be no scoring from there. The Wildcats threatened in the bottom of the second putting runners on second and third with just one out, but were unable to drive them in. They got a runner to third with just one out in the next inning as well, but the final two batters struck out to end the inning.

Stat pack
  • The Wildcats were able to get a runner on base in each inning and left six runners on base.
  • Donelle Johnson went 2-2 with a walk on the day to reach base three times.
  • SFA notched three homeruns on the day.
  • Alivia Sinnott got the start and fell to 0-2 on the season. She pitched two innings, facing one batter in the third, giving up three earned runs.
  • Samantha Bradley gave up five runs in her first inning of work in relief but pitched two solid innings after the third. She allowed just two hits and one walk after the third.
