Wildcats head to Nicholls for final road series

ABILENE –  The Wildcats head back out on the road this weekend as the make the long journey to face Nicholls for a three-game series. As the team heads into the final stretch of the regular season, they have an opportunity to earn three important road wins.

WILDCATS STORYLINES

• The Wildcats are coming off a weekend where they dropped three games to McNeese and struggled to put runs on the board, scoring just one run over the three games.
• Donelle Johnson was responsible for the lone run with a solo homerun in the second game of the series, it was her second homerun of the season.
• ACU has had some success on the road. Of their seven wins, six have come on the road including a win at SLU and two over HBU. 
• The Wildcats are hitting .237 as a team with Johnson leading the way with a .361 batting average. Shaylee Alani is riding a three-game hit streak coming into the weekend.
• ACU holds a 6.63 ERA as a team with Samantha Bradley leading the way with a 5.57 ERA. 

SCOUTING THE COLONELS (10-21, 3-15)

• Nicholls is coming back home after the last two weekends were on the road. They are coming off their first series win of the season going 2-1 at A&M-Corpus Christi. 
• The Colonels are 3-11 at home with their last home win coming on March 30 over Southern. 
• While the team has hit just eight homeruns on the season, they haven't given up the long ball either with opposing teams hitting just 17 on the year.
• Nicholls has a .264 team batting average. Leading the way for the team is Ashlyn Reavis who has a .398 average on the year. 
• As a team they hold a 4.28 ERA and are led by Jordan Moon with a 3.71 ERA.
