ABILENE – The ACU golf program and head coach Tom Shaw are excited to announce the signing of Thomas Buisson for the 2022-23 season. Buisson, a native of Gujan-Mestras, France, is currently ranked 13th in the nation's U18 division.
"We are looking forward to welcoming Thomas to the U.S. this fall and to him joining the ACU golf team. He is an excellent player who has demonstrated his ability to compete at a high level with successful tournament finishes all over the world," Shaw said. "I'm confident he will quickly make the adjustment to golf in the United States, much like fellow countryman Cyril Bouniol did for ACU when he a won a National Championship for the Wildcats in 2010."
Buisson has had a busy year of competition, turning in a 4th-place finish at the AJGA Las Vegas to go with top-20 performances at the French Championship and the Biarritz Cup. Additionally, the former Tournois Federal Jeune winner came in 28th at the 2021 Italian International Championship,
"Thomas comes from a wonderful family who believe in the pairing of high-level Division-I athletics with a world class and nationally recognized education," Shaw added. "They bought in quickly to what Abilene Christian offers its' student-athletes, and they are 100% on board with our development plan for Thomas."
