Bonnarens goes for season-bests at K-State

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Grad transfer Jamie Bonnarens led the way with 16 points for the Abilene Christian women's basketball team Tuesday night against the Kansas State Wildcats of the Big 12 Conference. ACU (3-1) responded after a tough first quarter and went blow-for-blow with a Power 5 bunch that had a player no shorter than 5' 9" on its team. ACU got down early but battled to a 62-48 game in the final three periods against the 5-1 K-State group.

Turning Point: K-State's first quarter
Kansas State scored 31 points and shot 62% from the floor with five three-pointers in the first quarter. ACU battled back tough in the final three periods, but K-State was able to hold onto the big lead.

Key Plays
- 1Q | Kamryn Mraz hit a triple one minute into the ballgame to give ACU its only lead of the game, 3-2.
- 2Q | Bonnarens was active at the free throw line and Sarah Griswold hit a pair of jumpers from mid-range to get ACU going offensively in the second period.
- 3Q | Bonnarens continued to get to the line, hitting 5-of-6 from the stripe in the third quarter.
- 3Q | Paige Emborsky hit a three-pointer at the two-minute mark of the third quarter to get her into the scoring column.
