Week 6: Wildcats look to bounce back against Eastern Kentucky

ABILENE – The ACU football team hits the road this week for third time this season, heading to Eastern Kentucky for the second of seven WAC/ASUN Challenge contests on the schedule.

Abilene Christian (3-2, 0-1 WAC/ASUN Challenge)
- ACU ran into a bit of a buzzsaw last weekend, falling to Central Arkansas to snap a three-game win streak. The Wildcats have now won three straight in each of their last three full seasons.
- Running back Anthony Smith has been one of the most consistent Wildcats with the ball in his hand so far this season, scoring a touchdown in three of his last four games. He and Tyrese White have combined for 47% of the team's total carries and 49% of the team's rushing yards to date.
- Stone Earle is tied for seventh nationally with 13 touchdown passes, while top target Kobe Clark is tied for sixth in receiving touchdowns with five.
- Defensively, freshman safety Elijah Moffett turned in a huge performance for the 'Cats on Saturday, picking up 14 tackles against UCA.
- The ACU offense currently leads the Western Athletic Conference in total yards, averaging 414.8 yards per game.
Eastern Kentucky (3-2, 1-0 WAC/ASUN Challenge)
- The Colonels are coming off back-to-back home wins against 19th-ranked Austin Peay and Tarleton to improve to 2-1 at Roy Kidd Stadium this season.
- Running back Da'Joun Hewitt had a big day against the Texans on Saturday, rushing the ball 26 times for 121 yards and two scores.
- EKU linebacker Matthew Jackson is the leading tackler in the Atlantic Sun Conference so far this fall, averaging nine tackles per game.
- The Colonels are the top team in the league in the red zone, converting on 92% of their trips inside the 20.
