Wildcats put up season-best performance to dismantle Cards

ABILENE, Texas— Coming off a tough loss to Northwestern State, the Wildcats bounced back with a dominant home win over Lamar. Earlier in the season, the Wildcats traveled to Beaumont where they won by 12 points despite a poor offensive night from leading scorer, Payten Ricks. Ricks redeemed himself in a major way going 7-12 from three-point range for a career-high in made threes, and helping his team to a 30-plus point thrashing of the Cardinals.

- The Wildcats started the game on a 10-0 run. The Cardinals answered with a bucket in the paint, but ACU then went on an 18-0 run to put the team up 28-2 early in the first half.
- Payten Ricks hit four threes in the first half and helped the team to a 48-20 lead at the half.
- Joe Pleasant hit back-to-back threes early in the half, during the Wildcats' 18-0 run.
- Ricks opened the second half much like he did the first with a big three to put ACU up 29.

- Airion Simmons scored just two points in the game, but secured a game-high and career-high 12 rebounds.
- Clay Gayman scored 13 points on 6-6 shooting in his third start of the season.
- Damien Daniels led the team with five assists as well as scoring five points and grabbing three rebounds.
- The Wildcats grabbed a season-high in rebounds against a DI opponent with 46 total, outrebounding the Cardinals by 11.
- Turnovers were even with each team coughing up the ball 16 times, but ACU outscored the Cardinals 27-16 in points off turnovers.
- ACU's 46.9 percent effort from three-point range was their highest shooing percentage from deep on the season.
