ABILENE, Texas – Abilene Christian University has canceled its upcoming football game with Arizona Christian planned for Saturday, Nov. 14, because its opponent is unable to compete due to complications with COVID-19 testing protocols.
"We are disappointed, especially for our student-athletes, who have had limited opportunities to compete at home this season, but we are committed to keeping our team and coaches safe," said Allen Ward, ACU director of athletics. "We look forward to our next game."
The Wildcats are exploring all options at this time, including playing later in the weekend or early next week.
ACU's next scheduled game is at Virginia set for next Saturday, Nov. 21. The game is slated to air locally on Fox Sports Southwest at 3 p.m. CDT.
Single-game refunds will be processed over the next few days. An email will be sent to all season-ticket holders with refund and transfer options.
