Wildcat Golf team honored for academics by GCAA

ABILENE - The Golf Coaches Association of America Wednesday announced that Abilene Christian was one of 90 NCAA Division I teams nationwide to receive the title of All-Academic. The Wildcats received this honor after posting a grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
Eight ACU golfers furnished a GPA of 3.20 or better during the 2015 Spring Term led by 4.0 student-athletes Kyle Kennedy (finance) and Brandon Stites (accounting). Clarke Hudgins (management), Robert Johnson (kinesiology), Kyle Karnei (accounting), Dillon Vaughn (management), Kaden Walters (finance) and Brandon Wilkins (management) also enjoyed successful semesters in the classroom.
Vaughn additionally was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar earlier this week after recording a 74.8 scoring average to go along with his 3.70 CGPA.
ACU was one of only three Southland Conference Schools to receive this distinction along with Houston Baptist and Southeastern Louisiana.
To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the GPA's for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
