Wildcats Place Fourth At St. Edward's Invitational

Final Results
AUSTIN, Texas - Abilene Christian's No. 7-ranked golf team rallied to finish fourth Tuesday at the St. Edward's Invitational after posting a third-round score of 11-over-par 299. The Wildcats' final day score was the second lowest of the afternoon behind tournament champion and sixth-ranked Nova Southeastern's 7-over-par 295.
Nova Southeastern led the tournament's 17-team field from start to finish and earned the team victory at 19-over-par 883. No 2 Barry was second at 888 (297-292-299), and host St. Edward's placed third at 900 (295-304-301).
ACU finished fourth at 902 (298-305-299) and over the final two rounds eclipsed both No. 5 Chico State (293-309-307-909) and No. 13 Colorado Springs (293-314-317-924) in the team standings.
ACU junior Alex Carpenter was the Wildcats' highest finisher as he finished fourth at par 216 with rounds of 72-72-72.
Freshman Corbin Renner finished 15th at 229 with rounds of 77-77-75, while sophomore Trey Sullivan tied for 16th at 230 (77-77-76). Freshman Luke Carpenter and junior Kyle Dickerson tied for 21st place at 231.
For the Wildcats, Tuesday's finish marked the 26th straight tournament in which they've finished in the top seven.
