Wildcats drop third straight


MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The seventh-ranked ACU Wildcats dropped a 5-1 decision Friday afternoon to Auburn-Montgomery at the Blue-Gray Tennis Classic at the Lagoon Park Tennis Center.

The Wildcats are now 20-6 on the season as they dropped their third straight match at the Blue-Gray Classic.  Auburn-Montgomery is 17-1 now and is the No.1-ranked team in NAIA women's tennis.

The Wildcats will conclude their run in the tournament Saturday with a 9 a.m. match against No. 6 Valdosta State (Ga.).

The Wildcats' only win on Friday came at No. 1 doubles where the tandem of Jaclyn Walker and Julia Mongin knocked off AUM's duo of Ana Veselinovic and Kveta Hajkova, 9-8.

But Auburn-Montgomery won three singles matches in straight sets to take the match, 5-1.
