PORTALES, N.M. -- The ACU Wildcats bounced back from a disappointing loss Thursday night to sweep Eastern New Mexico on Saturday in a Lone Star Conference volleyball match at Greyhound Arena.
The Wildcats -- 10-4 overall and 1-1 in the LSC -- whipped the Zias, 25-19, 25-12, 25-15, for their ninth win in their last 10 matches. The Zias, meanwhile, are 4-11 overall and 0-2 in the LSC.
ACU, which was swept 3-0 Thursday by No. 7 West Texas A&M, showed no signs of a hangover from the loss as it whipped the Zias in every category. ACU hit .282 in the match compared to 024 for ENMU. The Wildcats also committed just eight attack errors to 28 for the Zias.
The Wildcats wasted little time in taking control of each set, jumping out to 10-4 leads in each of the three sets. ACU, in fact, only trailed twice in the entire match as ENMU took 1-0 leads in both the first and third sets.
But the Wildcats quickly gained the lead at 2-1 in each set and never looked back.
Jordan Schilling led the way for the Wildcats, finishing with 10 kills and 10 digs, while Shawna Hines had seven kills and seven total blocks.
ACU will return to action Thursday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Angelo State in an LSC match at Moody Coliseum.
