
ACU KOs Storm; runs streak to 13

DURANT, Okla. – After dropping the first set Saturday night the Wildcats volleyball team rallied to win their 13th straight match with a 3-1 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma State.
ACU moves to 25-5 and 10-2 with the win and SEOSU falls to 21-13 and 5-6 on the season.
The Wildcats dropped the first set as they fell behind early, but their rally was too little too late as the Savage Storm took the first set 25-22.
ACU went on to dominate the second and third sets as they hit .500 in the third winning both 25-19, and 25-18. In the fourth set the Wildcats were led by Hutt and Ijeoma Moronu as they came out on top 25-22. Hutt recorded eight of her kills in the fourth set.
ACU had four players with double digit kills as Jennie Hutt equaled her season high at 18. Shawna Hines added 12 kills as Lauren Leone recorded 10. Michelle Bacon returned for her second game in a row as she added 11 kills. Hines –who leads the nation in blocks per set- was again solid as she recorded six blocks in the match.
Junior Moronu tied a season high with 52 assists which is just seven shy of her career high.
The Wildcats who were ranked No. 7 in the latest South Central Region Poll helped their position as Southeastern Oklahoma came into the game ranked No. 10. ACU is also 37-6 dating back to the last 13 games of 2008.
Heading into the final week of the season the Wildcats will put their 16 game home winning streak on the line in the final two games of the regular season. The Wildcats will host Texas A&M-Kingsville on November 5 then on November 7 the Wildcats will entertain Tarleton State for senior day.
