ABILENE ? The ACU golf team is gearing up for the South Central Regionalm tournament, May 7-9 at the Robert Trent Jones Trail at the Shoals in Florence, Ala.
A trip to the Division II National Tournament (May 22-25) in Allendale, Mich., is at stake for the Wildcats. The Division II National Tournament appearance has eluded ACU since it last appeared in 1998.
The Wildcats currently sit in third place in the South Central Regional rankings. St. Edward's, which won the Heartland Conference title, is in first place followed by traditional Lone Star Conference power Central Oklahoma in the No. 2 spot. Lone Star Conference champion Northeastern State is in the No. 4 spot behind ACU.
