Campbell adds five to roster
ACU adds one transfer, four prep players
ABILENE - Abilene Christian head golf coach Mike Campbell announced Wednesday that he has added five players to his 2005-06 team, including two junior college transfers.
Campbell has added transfer Cian Daly of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, as well as prep players Patrick Hanauer of Aachen, Germany; Matt Smith of Sugar Land; Hilton Funk of Lago Vista; and Michael Andruchek of Flower Mound.
Daly joins the Wildcats after playing No. 1 for Mississippi Gulf Coast for each of the last two years. An all-region player in 2005, Daly finished 30th at the NJCAA Division II national tournament, firing a four-round total of 295. A native of Limerick, Ireland, Daly was an all-state junior college player in both 2003-04 and 2004-05. During his two-year junior college career, Daly was named to 10 all-tournament teams.
Hanauer is a 2003 graduate of INDA Gymnasium High School in Aachen, Germany. He has been a member of the Belgian National Team since 2000, and he was selected by the Belgian Golf Federation to play in three straight European Team Championships. He was a member of the Belgian National Tennis Team until the age of 14.
In the 2004 European Youth Team Championship tournament in Dublin, Hanauer holed a 50-foot putt on the final hole of play to clinch the win for the Belgian team.
Smith is a four-year letterwinner at Clements High School in Sugar Land where he played for head coach Tim Ramsey. Funk is a 2005 graduate of Lago Vista, and last spring he finished second in medalist standings at the the Class 2A state tournament in Austin. Andruchek is a letterman from Flower Mound Marcus High School.
