KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Top-ranked BYU-Hawaii had little trouble with Abilene Christian University in Friday's quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division II national tennis tournament, beating the Wildcats, 5-0, at the Plaza Tennis Center.

The Wildcats, who entered the tournament as the No. 9 seed, got to Friday's quarterfinal round with an easy 5-1 win over Clayton (Ga.) College and State. However, ACU couldn't match up with BYU-Hawaii's older and deeper group.

The Seasiders are now 27-0 on the season and will face either Lynn (Fla.) or West Florida in Saturday's semifinals. BYU-Hawaii is 130-1 in its last 131 matches with the only loss coming to Lynn in last year's championship match. The Seasiders won NCAA Division II national championships in 1999 and 2000, and, ironically, beat ACU 5-0 in the quarterfinal round of the 1999 tournament.

ACU has reached the national tournament seven straight seasons, but hasn't made it past the quarterfinal round since finishing as the national runner-up in 1996.
