Biography

 

Johnson returns for her fourth season with the Wildcats.  She is expected to continue to provide power to the middle of the lineup as a designated player. 2007 (Junior):  Played in 43 games and started 38 of them for the Wildcats.  After an early season slump, Johnson found her swing near the end of the season and finished with a .255 batting average, five doubles, three home runs and 16 RBI.  Johnson’s best game of the season came in the second game of a doubleheader on March 3 against Texas Woman’s.  Johnson went 4 for 4 at the plate with five RBI and two runs scored.  She also hit two home runs to help the Wildcats knock off Texas Woman’s 5-1.  2006 (Sophomore):  Johnson posted one of the great offensive seasons in school history by hitting .398 with 12 home runs and 46 RBI.  She earned first team all-Lone Star Conference South Division, first team National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association (NFCA)_all-region and second team NFCA_all-America honors at designated hitter.  Her .398 batting average led the Wildcats and was sixth in the LSC.  Her 12 home runs are the fourth-best single-season total in school history, and her 46 RBI_are the sixth-best single-season total in school history.  She also finished second on the Wildcats in hits with 70 (Allison Crouse, 71), total bases with 117 (Nicole Deel, 119), and home runs with 12 (behind only Deel’s LSC-best 13).  She had 20 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI_games in 2006.  Johnson put together a season-best four-RBI game on Feb. 17 when she went 3 for 4 with two runs scored, four RBI_and one home run in a 12-6 win over the Lady Hilltoppers of St. Edward’s.  Johnson had a career-best four-hit game on Feb. 12 in a 15-1 win over New Mexico Highlands when she went 4 for 5 with one run scored and a pair of RBI.  In the Wildcats’ NCAA_regional tournament win over Regis, Johnson was 1 for 2 with two runs scored and two RBI, both coming on a first-inning home run that staked the Wildcats to an early 2-0 lead.  Aside from her athletic accomplishments, Johnson was also selected to the conference all-academic team.  2005 (Freshman):  Played in 22 games with 15 starts as a freshman, hitting two home runs with 14 RBI and a .560 slugging percentage.  Her best game of the season came on April 15 when she helped ACU_beat Angelo State with two hits and four RBI.  The next day she had three hits and one RBI_in an ACU_win over the Rambelles.  In the four-game series, Johnson was 6 for 11 with seven RBI_and one home run.  Personal:  Born 22 July 1986.  2004 graduate of Canyon High School.
