Jenna Daugherty returns to her spot as the starting first baseman after a spectacular junior season. ACU head coach Chantiel Wilson calls her "the best defensive first baseman I've ever seen." 2006 (Junior): Daugherty established herself as the best defensive first baseman in the LSC and the NCAA Division II South Central Region by committing just one error on the season, which gives her only two errors at the position in her last four years of softball. She also exploded at the plate, hitting .352 with nine home runs and 44 RBI. Her nine home runs and 44 RBI are both the eighth-best single-season totals in school history. She had a career-best five RBI day on March 25 against Tarleton State when she went 3 for 4 with one run scored, one home run and five RBI, three of them coming in on a three-run home run in the Wildcats' 12-run third inning. ACU went on to win 13-7 to complete a four-game sweep of the TexAnns. She and shortstop Daisy Barcena were the only two Wildcats to start all 61 games. Daugherty earned first team all-LSC South Division and second team NFCA all-region honors. She was also named to the all-tournament team at the NCAA Division II South Central Region Tournament after going 5 for 8 in the Wildcats' three-game tournament run. 2004-05 (
