Simeone returns in 2009 as the Wildcats’ starting tight end after a nice rebound season in 2008. Missed the entire 2007 season because of a shoulder injury, but came back with a big season as a junior.
2008 (Junior): Simeone played in eight games on the season, finishing with two catches for nine yards. However, his biggest value was as a blocker in the Wildcats’ running game. Meshing with the offensive line, Simeone and fellow tight ends Kendrick Holloway and Ryan Keeling helped ACU rush for 2,826 yards and allow just eight sacks in 12 games. Simeone was voted first team all-Lone Star Conference South Division for his performance as a junior.
2006 (Sophomore): In his first season at ACU after transferring from perennial NCAA Division II powerhouse Northwest Missouri State, Simeone turned in one of the best performances by an ACU tight end in years with his 14-catch,
2005 (Freshman at NW Missouri State): Lettered as a redshirt freshman for the Bearcats, playing tight end and working as the deep snapper. In nine games and one start, he caught five passes for 51 yards and two scores. Played in the NCAA Division II national championship game where the Bearcats finished as the national runners-up to Grand Valley State.
High school: Standout at Trinity Christian Academy where he was a three-year letterman. As a junior he was an all-district defensive end, and then as a senior he was first team all-state at tight end and was a first team all-district performer at defensive end. He led his team to state semifinal appearances in each of his final two seasons.
Personal: Born 31 Jan 1986. 2004 graduate of Trinity Christian Academy.
