High school: Competed in football and track and field for the Tigers. Played running back in football for a 14-1 team that reached Class 5A semifinals in 2010 before 35-28 loss to eventual state champ Euless Trinity. Ran for more than 2,000 yards, including 267 yards and 3 TDs in playoff win over DeSoto, and earned all-district and second team TSWA all-state. Also ran for 1,150 yards as junior in 2009.
