Abilene Christian kicker Brandon Perez was named the United Athletic Conference Specialist of the Week for the second team this season.
Perez tied his career-high by going 3/3 on field goals last Saturday at North Alabama, including a no-doubter on his 37-yard attempt on the game's final play to win. Perez also made field goals from 38 and 45 yards out.
It's the third straight season ACU has kicked a winning field goal on the game's last snap: 2024 at Northern Colorado (Ritse Vaes, 54 yards); 2025 vs. #2 Tarleton State (Perez, 47 yards); 2026 at North Alabama (Perez, 37 yards). Perez also made a game-winner in 2024 when he played at NCAA Division II East Central.
Â
On Sept. 21, Perez won the weekly conference award after going 2/2 on field goals, including a 51-yarder, and 5/5 on extra point tries in a 41-39 victory at Idaho. Alex Broome claimed the honor after he scored on a 98-yard kickoff return against Texas Tech on Sept. 5.
The win over North Alabama keeps the Wildcats undefeated in the UAC with a 3-0 record.Â
ACU has its open week before hosting West Georgia for Homecoming presented by Greater Texas Ford Dealers on Oct. 31 at 3 p.m.
