One of the top athletes in West Texas after leading Lubbock-Cooper to the Class 5A Division II state semifinals his senior season
District 3-5A MVP that year following a stellar campaign that featured 1,820 all-purpose yards
Named Lone Star Varsity Offensive Player of the Year by the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal after rushing for 977 yards and 18 touchdowns, while catching 26 passes for 499 yards and four touchdowns
Honorable mention All-State honoree by the Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA)
Competed on the junior varsity as a junior due to the UIL's transfer policy
Previously attended nearby New Deal High School through his sophomore season
Shined at running back for the Lions with 2,004 yards and 27 touchdowns on the ground as part of 2,558 all-purpose yards and 30 touchdowns overall
